Jacqmotte beans

Happy Coffee Appreciation Day

Noshing & Sipping by Theresa Regli

In case you haven't heard the big news, Mayor Tom Menino has declared Friday, February 19 Coffee Appreciation Day in the city of Boston. That day will also mark the American debut of Jacqmotte, a Belgian coffee that has been revered in the land of mussels and fine chocolate since 1828. The 170th-anniversary blend is a medium, low-acidity brew that's perfect for an after-dinner nightcap. There are 25 single-bean and blended coffees to choose from, sold both as whole beans and ground. Most of them cost about $5 per half-pound (including shipping) on the company's Web site, http://www.jacqmotte.com.
