Pork Schop chorizo

Never sausage a snack!

by Theresa Regli

NOSHING & SIPPING
It's finally grilling season, and few things taste better grilled up than a good sausage. Chorizo is a seasoned pork sausage usually flavored with garlic and chili powder, commonly found in Spanish and Mexican cooking. The Pork Schop of Vermont makes its own version of chorizo, flavored with paprika, cider vinegar, garlic, and a touch of maple syrup (it is a Vermont product, after all). It's not as spicy as traditional chorizo, but its nice balance of spice and sweetness makes it a good choice for anyone craving more than a boring old wiener. A pack of three sausages costs $3.99 at most area supermarkets.
