90 MINUTES | BRATTLE: SEPT 16-18 Sharp-tongued, foul-mouthed, quick-witted, bi-sexual, Korean-American comedienne Margaret Cho seems a little less furious, and a lot less funny, in this May DC theater show that was filmed by Kerry Asmussen. Which is both a surprise and a disappointment given how much absurdity there is to be pissed off about in the state of the union these days. She targets the usual suspects: homophobia, the lack of women’s rights, the War in Iraq, the religious right. And she spends a lot of time talking about Provincetown, Björk, and a gay cruise. With a couple of exceptions — observing that Laura Bush’s "pussy probably tastes like Lysol" and that talking with John Kerry was like having a conversation with an Ent — her observations are predictable and recycled. She refers to "the burden of inequality," but despite peppering the performance with fuck-yous, her indignity has languished and her outrage feels halfhearted.
