AFTERNOON STORM
FNX Network announces new talent lineup

TUESDAY, April 17, 2001 -- After pulling a stunt with more than one solid hour of Ravel’s “Bolero,” radio personality Storm Zbel officially debuted as the new P.M. Drive Air Personality on the FNX Radio Network this afternoon.

Three-year afternoon personality “Cruze In The Afternoon” is stepping down from the FNX Network’s drive-time slot to concentrate on his duties as the network’s director of programming.

“I’ve had a blast on-air at FNX for the past three years,” said Cruze. “But with the addition of our stations in Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, it’s time to devote full-time attention to my duties as program director. And with Storm hitting the air in this timeslot, I believe that we’ll shake up New England radio in a totally new, exciting way.”

Zbel will occupy the 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. timeslot, and taking over the 7 p.m. - midnight show is Elizabeth “Thin Lizzy” Sharp. Sharp, a former winner of the FNX DJ Search in 1998, has been the host of the hard-edged Alternative Music Show “Xtreme FNX” for over a year. Beginning tonight, “Xtreme FNX” will air weeknights from 7 p.m. to midnight.

“Thin Lizzy rocks!” says Cruze. “Her ‘Xtreme FNX’ show has been so successful, it only makes sense to expand it into this new timeslot. With this on air lineup, FNX is poised for our biggest success ever!”

The FNX Radio Network (www.fnxradio.com), which broadcasts at 101.7FM in Boston, 103.7FM in Providence, RI, and 92.1 in Manchester, NH, Portsmouth, NH, and Portland, ME, is owned by the Phoenix Media Communications Group, which also publishes weekly editions of the Phoenix in Boston, Portland, Worcester, and Providence, and Stuff @ Night magazine.
