Going it Alone

If you don't have time for a class or school just isn't for you, there are several ways to become better educated about digital photography on your own. Shortcourse.com (http://www.shortcourses.com/) offers an array of books and fully searchable eBooks in PDF format on their site, from The Textbook of Digital Photography to short courses in the newest version of Photoshop. But if you don't feel like spending the money, there is also a lot of free information on their site that will help you in a digital-photography crisis. You can also find lots of free information and help on one of the many digital-photography community websites. Most of the sites out there have community chat rooms, and some even have mini-tutorials. Check out our research page for more resources.
