Slideshow: Boston Tea Party 2009
Tea Bagging on the Commons
By
ERIC BAUMANN
| April 20, 2009
Protestors assembed at the Commons for the Boston Tea Party 2009, or Tea Bagging Day, to rally against recent government policies, mostly taxes.
The protest was part of a nation-wide event on IRS' income-tax day. Other protests took place in D.C., Miami, and Sacramento.

Trying times for Obama
It was only a matter of time before President Barack Obama turned into a deficit hawk. Instead of cuts: guts
Let’s assume, reader, that you’re concerned about economic and social justice. For those in real need — people who are poor, sick, old, mentally ill, addicted, disabled — you want decent care. You’re concerned, too, about proper funding of schools, community colleges, and university campuses.
Alternatives abound
The 2009 tax increases around the country.
Snowe: A party of one
US Senator Olympia Snowe has maneuvered herself into a position where she is the only hope Democrats have of getting a "bipartisan" agreement on healthcare reform.
The wrong man for hard times
Most Democrats see Barack Obama’s inauguration as a clear-cut, welcome turn to the left.
Wish upon a czar
Paul Krugman could be Obama’s economic dream come true
Hallelujah!
The Democrats won and the Republicans lost. That, in a nutshell, is the bottom line.
Review: Bangor artist Kenny Cole lights the 'Hellfire' at SPACE Gallery
"The Hellfire Story" is a tough pill to swallow.
Will race tip the balance?
Any hope that Barack Obama's election would usher in a "post-racial" politics was, of course, naïve. Race is the great American problem. The great American obsession.
