Thousands of antiwar protesters gathered at the Minnesota State Capital building for a rally before heading out on a march to the Xcel Energy Center site of the 2008 Republican National Convention. Over 10,000 people marched largely peacefully in the "March on the RNC" which wound its way through downtown St. Paul and past the barricaded Xcel Center.
