A breadwinner

Lavash is for lovers

What is lavash? A soft, thin flatbread made with wheat, flour, water, yeast, and salt. Try it with shish kebab, or serve it with dipping sauces or smothered with butter and jelly. One kind of lavash -- baked according to a recipe followed centuries ago by people living in the shadows of Mount Ararat -- is sold in 16-ounce bags for $1.69 to $2.49. It's made by Shushan, distributed by Pyloon, and available in Watertown's Armenian and Middle Eastern food shops -- as well as in DeLuca Markets and some Star Markets.
