WGBH-TV
Greater Boston, with Emily Rooney, Monday through Thursday, from
7 to 7:30 p.m. on Channel 2. Usually repeats at 11 p.m. on Channel 44.
The Long & Short of It, with Robert Reich and Alan Simpson, Friday,
from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on Channel 2. Usually repeats at 11 p.m. on Channel 44.
Say Brother, an African-American-oriented show, Thursday, from 8:30 to
9 p.m. on Channel 2. Repeats on Sunday at 5 p.m. on Channel 2.
La Plaza, a Latino-oriented show, Saturday, from 6:30 to 7 p.m., on
Channel 2. Usually repeats on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. on Channel 44.
Greater Boston Arts, a monthly program on the local arts scene. The
next installment will be broadcast on Thursday, February 20, from 7:30 to 8
p.m. on Channel 2, and will repeat at 11:30 p.m. on Channel 44.
WBUR Radio (90.9 FM)
The Connection, an interview and call-in show hosted by
Christopher Lydon, is broadcast every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to
noon, and is repeated from 8 to 10 p.m.
Commercial programs
In addition to regular TV newscasts, the following TV and radio shows
are worth noting.
The David Brudnoy Show, an interview and call-in program, is broadcast
every Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight on WBZ Radio (AM 1030).
That is, except when there's a hockey or basketball game. Or when Brudnoy is
out plugging his book.
NewsNight, an interview program, is shown every Monday through Friday
from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on New England Cable News. It's repeated at 8:30 p.m. on
NECN and at 11:30 p.m. on Channel 2.
Talk of New England, an interview and call-in show, is cablecast on
Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. on New England Cable News. It will be repeated on
Sunday at 5 p.m. on NECN through February 23; after that it will instead be
repeated on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Two politically oriented panel shows are broadcast every Sunday from 11:30
a.m. to noon: Five on Five, on WCVB-TV (Channel 5), and Boston
Common, on WHDH-TV (Channel 7).
Mosaic, a minority-affairs program, is shown on Saturday in the ungodly
time slot of 6 to 6:30 a.m. on WLVI-TV (Channel 56). It's followed by Keller
at Large, a political interview program, from 6:30 to 7 a.m.
WABU-TV (Channel 68) has nearly eliminated its once extensive prime-time
line-up of local public-affairs shows. On Sunday it continues to broadcast
ECU, an interview/profile show, at 10 p.m., and Consider This, a
call-in show, at 11 p.m.
