A week in the life

[Tony Lee] Wednesday

"Curses," a goth/industrial/fetish night with DJ Mothra and DJ Chris, is the original Boston goth night. It's at Man Ray, 21 Brookline Street, in Cambridge. Doors open at 9 p.m., and the cover is $5 for 19- and 20-year olds, $3 for 21-plus.

Thursday

"Ceremony," a goth/industrial night with DJ Mothra and newcomer DJ Lady Bathory, is at the Spot, 1270 Boylston Street, in Boston. Doors open at 9:30 p.m., and the cover is $5 for 18- to 20-year-olds, $3 for 21-plus.

Saturday

Hexx, a goth/industrial event with DJ Arcanus and DJ Static, opened in March and is the most recent presence on the scene. Hexx is at Stage One, 100 Warrenton Street, in Boston's theater district. Doors open at 10 p.m., and the cover is $5 for 19-plus.

Second Friday of every month

"Hell," at Man Ray, is a four-year tradition and one of the biggest events on the local goth dance card. Doors open at 9 p.m., and the cover is $10 for 19-plus.

Upcoming

Danse Macabre 1 is scheduled for August 29 through 31 at Hexx. The three-day show will feature the following bands: black tape for a blue girl, Rhea's Obsession, the Changelings, Judith, the New Creatures, and Dead Leaves Rising.
