Stewart's Fountain Classics
These delicious sodas induce daydreams of a bygone era. The Classic Key
Lime, for instance, conjures up a bevy of Southern belles picnicking in the
shade of a sprawling mimosa tree. The root beer is a true classic; its recipe
was conceived in 1924 by the owners of Stewart's Restaurant, a traditional
hot-dog joint that is now a New Jersey franchise. Other flavors, such as Ginger
Beer, Orange 'n Cream, and Cream Ale were developed by the present owner, the
Cable Car Beverage Corporation of Denver. You can find Stewart's unique
potables at various convenience stores around New England. They sell for
approximately $1 a bottle.
