Oh, the places you'll go
Shenandoah Sassafras Root Beer
It's all very Dr. Seuss, the way the label on a bottle of Shenandoah Sassafras
Root Beer sports a colorful caricature of an old distillery out in the woods,
guarded by a pointy-nosed dog and a wide-eyed owl. Pair that with the name of
the company, Journey, and you can just imagine the tiny carbonation bubbles
traveling, Seuss-style, through the distillery's copper tubes. But the name
more likely refers to Journey's owner, Mark Panely, who has traveled the world
for regional ingredients with which to brew his exotic and creatively packaged
sodas. Journey Food and Beverage Soft Brews cost 99 cents per 12-ounce bottle,
and $3.99 per 12-pack.
