Fresh City Wraps
The wrap is one of the most innovative products of the healthy-fast-food
revolution. Stuff a tortilla with Peking duck? No problem. The great selling
point of wraps is that any dish can be turned into a portable, tightly wrapped
sandwich.
Fresh City Wraps, which recently opened a large and colorful eatery in
Coolidge Corner, serves wraps stuffed with a wide array of ingredients. The 13
hot wraps ($4.59 to $6.29) include the piquant vegetable teriyaki (a spinach
tortilla with marinated veggies and sesame noodles), the flaming-hot "Tijuana"
(a chili-pepper tortilla with chili, rice, tomatoes, avocado, cheddar, and
chipotle salsa), and the smooth, spicy "Lonestar Barbecue" (a tomato tortilla
with grilled chicken, veggies, potatoes, and barbecue sauce). Salad wraps
($3.79 to $4.99) are equally diverse; try the "Feta Compli" (a pita stuffed
with spinach, feta, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, onions, and caesar
dressing) or the "Hey, Pilgrim!" (filled with turkey, cranberry sauce, spinach,
and bread stuffing). There are even breakfast wraps ($2.99 to $3.49), served
daily until 10 a.m.
Fresh City Wraps, located at 1335 Beacon Street, in Brookline, is open
