Edible flowers
Attention lotus eaters
by Suzanne Kammlott
Remember that crazy lady scarfing down the floral centerpiece in
Bertolucci's film The Last Emperor? That can be you. For less than two
bucks, pick up this assortment of well-washed blooms to be used as a colorful
accent on just about anything: there are carnations (peppery), bachelor's
buttons (anise-flavored), pansies (a little bitter), and snapdragons (a lemon
lilt), all nestled on morning-glory leaves. Best served at room temperature.
Available for $1.89 at Johnny's Foodmaster.
