Lakota cookies

Building a butter biscuit

by Suzanne Kammlott

NOSHING & SIPPING
Diets be damned: Lakota Bakery makes the world's tastiest cookies. At their Arlington shop, Barbara and Peter Wynde hand-create oversized, coronary-inducing, butter-drenched treats. The cookies cost 75 cents each ($8 per dozen) and come in about 20 styles -- apricot linzer, walnut crescent, and chocolate raspberry cream among them. Named for one of the Sioux peoples of the Great Plains, Lakota is located at 1373 Mass Ave, in Arlington Heights. Call (781) 646-0121.
