Last Night

With the world about to end, from inexplicable causes, at midnight, Don McKellar's film focuses on the lives and imminent deaths of a handful of Torontonians. Chief among these is McKellar's character, whose solitude is disturbed by a young woman (Sandra Oh) whose agenda includes a bottle of bad wine and a mystery briefcase. What follows is expected but somehow utterly surprising -- Last Night starts with a giggle and ends with a bang.
