Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

This Clint Eastwood adaptation of John Berendt's garden-variety bestseller about a sensational murder case in 1980s Savannah has John Cusack alternately endearing and annoying as the New York City journalist who gets involved with Kevin Spacey's nouveau riche antiques dealer and real-estate tycoon. After some two and a half hours (including the Lady Chablis), Cusack still doesn't get to the heart of the mystery -- because there isn't any.
