Lady and the Tramp

This 1955 animation ranks as one of Disney's best, with its story of a genteel suburban cocker spaniel who gets a taste of real life from the neighborhood's man-about-town mutt. As usual in Disney, the animals are smarter and more caring than the humans (the movie is a not-so-subtle satire of Lady's whitebread owners). Highlight: that romantic al fresco dinner at Tony's, when Tramp nudges the last meatball over to Lady's side of the plate.
