Kenneth Branagh imitates director Woody Allen's whining stammer with annoying insistence as a trash journalist who somehow almost scores with Melanie Griffith's superstar actress, Charlize Theron's Valkyrie supermodel, and Winona Ryder's opportunistic ingenue, even as his ex, Judy Davis, is bumping into TV producer Joe Mantegna and becoming the host of a talk show. Early in his career Allen's comedy skewered pretenses, but for some time now it's been the other way around.
