The complete schedule
BY JEFFREY GANTZ

James Levine’s first season as BSO music director was a huge success, and Tanglewood 2005 looks to follow in its footsteps. Among the many highlights: the Boston Early Music Festival world-premiere production of Johan Mattheson’s Boris Goudenow that’s in town this week (June 24 and 25); the Mark Morris Dance Group in Somebody’s Coming To See Me Tonight, Mosaic and United, Lucky Charms, and a world premiere (June 26 and 27); A Prairie Home Companion at Tanglewood with Garrison Keillor (July 2); James Taylor (July 4 and 5); James Levine, Deborah Voigt, and Lorraine Hunt Lieberson in Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 (July 8); Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops in a Stephen Sondheim 75th-birthday salute (July 13); James Levine, Deborah Voigt, and many more in Act I of Die Walküre and Act III of Götterdämmerung (July 16); James Levine in Brahms’s Symphonies Nos. 2 and 3 (July 22) and 1 and 4 (July 23); the return of former BSO music director Seiji Ozawa for "Tanglewood on Parade" (July 26); the Festival of Contemporary Music (August 4 through 8); Leon Fleisher in a solo piano recital (August 11); Marin Alsop (a woman on the podium!) in the Barber Cello Concerto, with Yo-Yo Ma, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 (August 20); John Williams in "Film Night at Tanglewood" (August 27); and Marek Janowski in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (August 28).
