Whether or not the Feast of the Seven Fishes brings good luck and fortune to its participants, as the story goes, hardly matters to us; we’ll gladly head to Grotto (37 Bowdoin Street, Boston) on December 24 for the traditional Christmas Eve meal. The four-course dinner (with two options for every course) features house-smoked golden trout, crab ravioli, ricotta gnocchi with lobster truffle, pan-roasted wild sea bass, and seared diver scallops. The cost is $50, or $40 for a three-course menu. Call 617.227.3434 for reservations, which are strongly recommended.
