Sometimes it’s just easier to throw your best stuff up online instead of waiting around for discs to come back from the pressing plant, etc. . . . The stuff always leaks anyway, right? "King of the Trill" Almost 20 years in the game and Houston rap godfather Bun B is just releasing his debut solo album (Trill, Asylum/Rap-a-lot, in stores Tuesday)? As this Rapid Ric-assembled mixtape proves, Bun hasn’t been slacking. Every classic Bun verse is here, chopped and conveniently tossed in a .zip file by Matt Sonzala."TO SWEDEN WITH LOVE" Brooklyn spinster DJ Ayres steps up to the plate(s) with a tight mix for Swedish site Disco Belle. In just over half an hour, Ayres runs through 25 tracks, from the Eurythmics to Young Jeezy, flipping some dusty soul samples in along the way. A Swedish dish that Muppet dude would be proud of. "YOU GONNA WANT ME" Canadian electro-pop genius Tiga and Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears had such a fabulous time remaking Nelly’s "Hot In Herre" that they decided to put together a cut for Tiga’s long-awaited debut. The results? A predictably flamboyant and incessantly catchy hook-fest that should be rocking loft parties from Beantown to Brooklyn.
