A NIGHT AT THE ROCK OPERA | Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra, a Boston-based group "committed to bringing the best of classic rock to life for those who've never had a chance to hear it LIVE in 3-D," reprises its evening-long orgy of the Who, David Bowie, the Beatles, and Queen — and threatens to throw some Led Zeppelin into the mix. | Stuart St Playhouse, 200 Stuart St, Boston | 800.447.7400 | Indefinitely | Curtain 7:30 pm Sat | $39.50

THE ODYSSEY | Charlestown Working Theater's co-directors, Jennifer Johnson and John Peitso, have adapted Homer's epic poem as a performance piece "for two people traveling together in a small boat, sailing across a half-real, half-imaginary landscape." Johnson and Peitso perform the piece in a 15-foot rowboat, telling the poem's "tale of exile and return in fragments, using original and adapted music, text, image, and physicality." | Charlestown Working Theater, 442 Bunker Hill St, Charlestown | 866.811.4111 | February 19-28 | Curtain 8 pm Thurs-Sat | 2 pm Sun | $15; $12 seniors, students

OF MICE AND MINK | Duck and cover, ghost of John Steinbeck. The Gold Dust Orphans have rewritten Of Mice and Men, turning it into "the tragicomic story of Georgie (Larry Coen) and Linda (Rick Park), two not-so-pretty hookers living through the current not-so-great depression without a friend to lean on or a pot to piss in." The setting is a bottom-of-the-barrel brothel on the wrong side of town, where Linda, "a woman-child in the body of a dangerously powerful 'She-Hulk,' " gets into some trouble that may or may not involve rabbits. James P. Byrne directs Ryan Landry's utterly free adaptation of the novella. | Ramrod Center for the Performing Arts, basement of Machine, 1254 Boylston St, Boston | 866.811.4111 | February 20–March 21 | Curtain 8 pm Fri-Sat | 4 pm Sun [March 8, 15] | $30; $35 at the door
