Benches at the Boston Common are usually covered in bird shit, and the expanse of grass occasionally smells, well, let’s just say “un-grassy,” but that’s not to say one shouldn’t plan an idyllic picnic in the park. Lie down and let tiny insects sting your torso. Feel! Be! If you’re compelled to do so — and, after reading this, who wouldn’t be? — fling your once-beloved car keys into the Frog Pond, and smile beatifically at the sacrifice you’ve made for the good of the world. (Aren’t the simple pleasures just divine?)
