A nice guy's travel log

Turk Pipkin is a laid-back Texan who chews on issues as if they were the end of a hay straw. Concerned about what the world will be like when his daughters grow up, he muses on poverty, hunger, terrorism, global warming, and other such matters; then he globe-hops to glean insight from eight Nobel Prize winners including Desmond Tutu and Sir Joseph Rotblat, the 96-year-old nuclear scientist who joined forces with Albert Einstein to denounce atomic arms. Although the potpourri of POVs is provocative, Pipkin himself lacks the compelling edge of a Michael Moore or even the convincing passion of Al Gore in An Inconvenient Truth, and Nobelity meanders more like a nice guy’s travel log than an intellectual probing of mankind's future.
