On FRIDAY (the 28th), look out for the BIG NAZO BAND hopping aboard the mothership when GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC return to Lupo's; Clinton walked into the Nazo Lab awhile back and eventually invited them to join the P-Funk party at various tour stops. This will be a wild, funky affair; tix are $30-$35 and available at the door (401.331.5876). Also on Friday, local jam crew TRAILS team up with DANNY PEASE & THE REGULATORS at the Spot Underground (401.383.7133), while the Met delivers a full screamo roster led by SLEEP CITY and SIDESHOW, along with SAY HELLO TO GOLIATH, TROPHY WIVES, and BUILDING PYRAMIDS; all-ages with a 7 pm start (401.729.1005). On SATURDAY (the 29th), the Parlour on North Main Street (formerly the Penalty Box) hosts a killer triple-bill with OLNEYVILLE SOUND SYSTEM, SIX STAR GENERAL, and LLOYD'S LLAMAS; hands-down this is the best five-spot you'll spend all weekend. At Firehouse 13, revel in the epic anthems of Chicago's MAKESHIFT PRODIGY ($12 day of show, 401.270.1801), while former 'BRU Rock Hunt finalists LAST ONE OUT hit the Whiskey Republic for an early show (401.588.5158). And Fête presents a nice double-header with the JON HERINGTON BAND (guitarist for Steely Dan) and MARK CUTLER & MEN OF GREAT COURAGE ($15 at the door, 401.383.1112). On SUNDAY (the 30th), THE PARKINGTON SISTERS play the PVD Social Club with Provy quartet CONSUELO'S REVENGE. On WEDNESDAY (the 3rd), murder those midweek blahs with METAL NIGHT at Dusk; the weekly showcase delivers CRYPTER, GOREALITY, and LED TO THE GRAVE; Dusk has stepped up as one of the best all-around live venues in RI, call 401.714.0444 for show details. And next THURSDAY (the 4th) at the Met, ANGRY SAMOANS make their only New England appearance along with a fistful of special guests — LENNY LASHLEY'S GANG OF ONE, THE CRYPTICS, and the return of MIDNIGHT CREEPS; all-ages and $15 at the door.
