And get back down to Matunuck on FRIDAY (the 18th) for psychobilly vets Nashville Pussy with guest Jake Orvis & the Broken Band (401.782.3740). Denny Rochefort’s General Assembly has two quality gigs on the books for Friday, with New Highway Hymnal, Bad Swimmers, Way Out, and Ghost Thrower (album release) playing Machines With Magnets (401.595.4226); or catch the excellent Vudu Sister (pick up Household Items ASAP) opening for the Parkington Sisters at Fête’s Lounge. Free show o’ the weekend goes down SATURDAY (the 19th) at Jimmy’s Saloon featuring Good Morning Apocalypse, CAD, and must-hear locals Ravi Shavi (401.846.5121). On WEDNESDAY (the 23rd), doom-metal legend Mike Scheidt will perform a solo set at Dusk (401.714.0444). And next THURSDAY (the 24th), the Met hosts a solid rap bill led by Roger (album release) with guests Crucial, Cesar Luciano, Jon Hope, and more (all ages, $10).
