Read the runes

By BOSTON PHOENIX LETTERS  |  March 5, 2008

Poll after poll tells us that we voters actually do care about the war in Iraq, the economy, jobs, and the environment, among other concerns. We are less interested in strategy, polls, fundraising, name calling, and personal conflicts. (Not that those are insignificant.) If there was more discussion in the media about the issues and voting records, there would then be more pressure on the candidates to clarify and refine their positions, which in turn would educate the public and increase our interest in the issues.

As we begin to move out of the primary phase, I urge the Phoenix to provide a public service and to rise above irrelevancy.
