On THURSDAY (the 18th), it's last call for VUDU SISTER (currently recording a new album at the Columbus Theatre) with HAUNT THE HOUSE and DAN BLAKESLEE at the Salon (401.865.6330), leading into a super-busy weekend. Out looking for fun after following Beervana? Call a cab and head to Fête for a wild one with CALABRESE, THE ARKHAMS, THE EVIL STREAKS, and TONY JONES & THE CRETIN 3 ($10, 401.383.1112); BISCUIT CITY rocks Nick-a-Nee's (401.861.7290), and down the street at the Apartment, check out THE BOOKMARKS, MELT INTO PLACE, and ANTS IN THE CELLAR ($10, 401.228.7222). Also on Friday, kick back at Local 121 (401.274.2121) with BARN BURNING, BEBEREQUIN, and Boston's EYE WITNESS; RI artist Susan Dwyer has MARK CUTLER providing the sounds at her art opening at Machines With Magnets in Pawtucket starting at 6 pm (401.475.2655); and veteran singer/songwriter Heather Rose is back with a new band, as HEATHER ROSE IN CLOVER debut at the Roots Café with JENN BOSTIC (18+,$6, 401.272.7422). SATURDAY (the 20th) includes DUM DUM GIRLS playing the PVD Social Club with quality local guests THE BROTHER KITE and THE SILKS; SoCal-via-Seekonk "psychedelic maltshop punk" quartet VICKY & THE VENGENTS hit the Apartment, and Local 121 (401.274.2121) hosts DOG DAY AFTERNOON and BAYLIES BAND. On TUESDAY (the 23rd), make tracks to the 193 Coffeehouse at URI for indie heroes BROADCASTER (fans of Built to Spill and Modest Mouse: get onboard). And on WEDNESDAY (the 24th), CHRIS MONTI slings the six-string at Nick-a-Nee's (no cover), while piano diva KRISTI MARTEL is at the Roots Café. Music starts at 8pm with a $5 cover.
