Hostess Lucky Puffs
by Jumana Farouky
Don't worry, that's not mold. They're supposed to be that color. For the
third year in a row, Hostess has produced green Sno Balls, slapped some
shamrocks on the wrapper, and dubbed them Lucky Puffs, just in time for St.
Patrick's Day. "We like to do our part to celebrate the day," says Mike Redd,
marketing manager for Hostess. "We have a lot of fun with the Sno Balls."
Available only for the two weeks leading up to March 17, these edible grassy
tufts are more elusive than their pink-and-white counterparts, but beneath the
fluorescent green coconut coating lies the same spongy marshmallow clinging to
a mound of chocolate cake. At least this time green doesn't taste like mint.
Available for 99 cents at Star Market.
