As I mentioned, our writers had the unusual opportunity to read their own original work at NYC venues as part of “The Writer’s Hotel Reading Series 2014.” And we created other literary events to give our Master Class its proper literary backdrop, and to honor writers and a city so steeped in writerly history. There were literary walking tours, one given by The Dorothy Parker Society, focusing on the Vicious Circle of Midtown and a tour of The New York Public Library. We also hosted a game of “Wink, Murder,” a game made popular the “Vicious Circle,” at The Algonquin Hotel. New York Distilling Company donated bottles of Dorothy Parker Gin for the evening event, and we all ate and drank and had a great time getting to know each other. It was one heck of a party!
